Enchanting Outdoor Yoga beneath the Full Moon with Live Harp
With Irish Goddesses Yoga Instructor Amanda Collins and Therapeutic Harpist Cheryl Angela
Since ancient times the moon has been considered a symbol of the feminine and has been worshipped as a powerful force. The moon is linked to the unconscious and is a physical expression of the Goddess. For centuries women have paid tribute to the full moon and worshipped her in ritual and ceremony.
The sacredness of the moon connects with the basic cyclic rhythms of life; the changing moon phases reflect the patterns of death and rebirth as manifest in agriculture and the seasons, and in a woman’s cycles of fertility.
The moon calendar continues to mark many festivals around the lunar phases. The full moon is the time of abundance, ripening, and completeness, fertile and shining with the full power of feminine secrets and mysteries, like the Mother form of the Goddess and the summer season.
Participants gather on the grass lawn overlooking the bay, gazing at the full moon glistening on the water—a truly magical view. Class opens with chanting and then moves through moon salutations and heart-opening asana set to the healing and comforting sounds of live harp. The harp has been used for centuries as an instrument to promote physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health and wellbeing. We will set our intentions for a new month cycle of peace, ease, and flow. Bring your family and friends; our healing is in our unity! We look forward to sharing this special evening together.
